Steve in Atlanta(gyrafoam) has one of these. It was found in an old store in Atlanta, never to have seen the daylight. NIB was the way he found it and is a wonderful machine.

Roger in Tuscon has one too.

Wow a 2-speed model! Roger's is identical to that one except that instead of the speed selector buttons, it has the "AUTOMATIC" tag. Those Highlanders are fun to watch with the 54 OPM Gyratator. Lots of waves!

The 300/500 machines are pretty slick - they have almost all of the functions of a 700 machine - less the automatic rinse temp selector and bleach dispenser - and of course, the lighted panel and lighted tub. (and as stated, 300 is the single speed, 500 is the 2 speed) I loved that these are hinged on the back - a very robust feel to these lids. Cool machine Kenny hope the new owner is pleased ~

Mine is the 300 (single-speed) no lights. It is the back-bone of my "fleet". Whenever one of my other machines misbehaves, it is always the Highlander I can call on to save the day.

I notice your subject heading says "MayGAG A500".

Shouldn't we really reserve the term "Maygag" for the newer machines? ;-)

I never noticed that, Sandy! You're right, that should be saved for the newer ones.....

But doesn't the diamond above the timer dial light up?

Trainguy---

The diamond on my A300 does not light up and has no provision to do so.
I thought for sure it would.
Oh well, maybe if it were a two speed.
