Is it really steam?

 Something about the way Whirlpool describes this machine makes me think it's really not steam at all. Certainly time will give the answer as more info comes out.

They describe it as: "delivering steam technology" and as using "a water line from the washer to spray a fine mist on clothes".

The first phrase seems to suggest a method which might be equivalent to steam, but not be steam itself. The second phase just plain sounds like they spray atomized water which simulates steam. Atomized water is just breaking up the water into tiny water droplets which never undergo a phase change into vapor. Short of a pressure boiler (double chamber so you can refill on the go), it's not so easy to "spray" steam. The next sentance uses the phrase "water vapor" which would suggest real steam as atomized water isn't a vapor.

Whatever it is, Whirlpool should cleanup the copy if it's really not steam. Anyone know the effectiveness of just lightly wetting dry clothing as it redries vs. true steam treatment for freshening and releasing wrinkles?
