There was always something wonderful about those BOL GE's. They did the job, inelegantly sometimes, but they did the job. My favorite was a WA550V that was in the Rectory basement of the grade school I went to, St. Luke's. I always wondered what was washed in that thing--St. Luke's was Episcopal but we had Nuns in full habit. I was interested in that machine because our downstairs neighbors had the matching dryer.

That GE washer is the exact machine my next oldest sister acquired when she bought a town house near the galleria in Houston in 1979
