Hi there.

I have a 1960s washer/dryer combo and am getting rid of it. I've attached a photo so you can see what it looks like. Let me know if you're interested in it.

Thanks, Philip

ps. unless I get a bite right away, it will be demo'd.

Don't let the picture fool you, it just needs some new screws and clips on the bottom panel.

Would be a good machine to grab, if none other than for parts.

It's saved from the crusher...

Hi All,

After years of lurking, it's about time I registered.
I picked up the combo along with a dishwasher and cooktop, both GE of similar vintage.
I'll try to get photos up this weekend when I get everything out of my van.

David

And congratulations on saving a relic! You won't be dissappointed. If you need a copy of the service manual I can get it for you. Or just help in fixing it up.
Those do wool very well!

It's on the ground.

Here's a link to a few photos of the unit. I connected a plug to the timer just to run the motor (no 220V hookups). I'll try it with water next weekend. Easter is the time for resurrection, right? It will need a new door gasket and repair or replacement of the softener tank. Other than that, not bad for a 40 year old machine. It looks to be a '67 model. The timer has a 12/65 date, and the pressure switch has 10/66.

Jetcone, I would be grateful if you could get a copy of the service manual for me, and the operating manual if possible. I'd like to see what the tub is like, and how the dry portion actually works.

More to follow next week.
