1 - Yes, and two different kinds. One was a manual system that stored the wash water in the machine. The user would remove the clothes after the first spin, and then place the drain hose into the tub to refill for another wash. After using the same wash water, all the loads of clothes would have to go through rinse cycles. Inexpensive system, but a bit of work. The other suds saver system was like most machines - using a laundry tub to store the wash water and then pumping it back into the machine for the next load after the complete cycle was finished. 2- The pulsator did not pump up and down while the tub was spinning, but at the end of the spin it would bob up and down a few times as the tub came to a stop. 3- Early models did not have a switch to stop action with lid open. Later models, about 52-56 I think, would shut machine off if lid was completely opened. Later models stopped all action when lid was raised. |
