There's one of the last Hoover wringer washers on Ebay at the moment - a W7002. It's different from earlier machines in that the wringer doesn't roll until you press down the pedal at the front - I think this was due to the same UK safety regulations that meant spin dryers had to have an interlock, which dates from 1975 AFAIK.

I emailed the seller, and the serial number dates this particular machine to may 1976, so it must have been the last wringer washer of any kind for sale over here. I had one as a weekly washer in the early '90s, but gave it away as I didn't know how rare it was.

Hope someone here buys this, otherwise I may just have to bid myself hehehe.
