*Apologies if this was addressed sometime in the past.*

In reference to your 1947 GE Washer demo (still available here in the AW site): Is this machine a belt-drive, direct drive, or some other electromechanical design? Also, (for any other knowledgeable readers to answer as well): Were the very first WP/KM models belt-drives? And if not, when did belt-drive units first come on the scene? Why were belt drives *of various brands* so popular? Cost? Efficiency? etc. Many thanks for your shared knowledge.--Laundry Shark
