Actually, Pickup Only...

In the description, it says, "Pickup Only". That happens a lot on eBay auctions for big stuff; evidently it's not easy to select any option for shipping other than a shipping amount, or free.

Brett & Dane,

I was being facetious all the way around. I read the entire post...I too am leery of sellers who don't fully understand and/or can't fully operate ebay before they glom on to make their fortunes...I always read the fine print, ask questions or best yet, just don't bid on an item.

It is a beautiful machine and I do hope someone close can save it. I will watch it just for fun, to see what the reserve is (if it gets met) and see how much they will be able to put down towards their retirement home purchase. lol! Maybe they shouldn't be talking to the guy with the Pink $2000 Maytag's.

Rick, I'm curious, why are you selling your Control Tower? Making room for that beautiful '56?

Reading the fine print

It isn't Rick who is selling the control tower.

Oh, well my mistake. We're only allowed to lambaste or otherwise comment (as seen by numerous threads) on others opinions of what they feel their machines are worth if they are NOT members of AWO. Then apologies are in order, if it's another AWO member.

I'm certainly not here to offend anyone. I just saw the posting in ebay this morning (noted the irregularities) and posted it here as an item of interest.

Best of luck with your ebay sale!

lol!! Before this goes any further, please allow me to explain the situation.

Yes, the machine is at my house.

Yes, the machine is one that used to be in my collection.

No, it does not belong to me anymore.

I made a deal with Gregm which included this Frigidaire Tower Top washer. Greg chose to sell it, and asked if he could sell the machine from my house. I agreed to allow the sale from here. It only makes sense. I am located in the Mid-West, and Greg is on the East Coast. This means the machine is closer for many, rather than the machine to be shipped from New England.

There is nothing wrong with this machine. It runs very quiet and strong. There are no leaks, of water or oil, and I went over it less than a year ago. The bellows had already been replaced, and all I had to do was clean it up and replace the hoses.
If someone would like to own a beautiful and rare Unimatic, bid with confidence. You won't be disappointed with this one.

If I were ever to get into vintage washers (which I probably would, if I had the space) I would be all over that machine. That design is just so darn elegant! I love the tall knobs and the timer mechanism.

It's definetly my dream machine... I just don't have the cash, oh well, one will pop up at the right time eventually!
