I like washing machines, and with all the fuss lately over NIB classics, I thought I ought to post what I saw. This "1959" N2LPS's owner may want to re-chack his information! If I recall, the safety foot pedal wasn't added until at least the mid 1960s. Also, wouldn't a '59 have a black agitator? For "NIB" it seems to have some paint chips and scufs. It looks to be in nice shape, but not brand-new. It would be a great machine, but they are pretty common and I just couldn't see myself paying anywhere close to the asking price, even if it is NIB.

Whoever gets this will have gone through the wringer,
Dave

It's in fairly nice shape, but Im pretty sure it's been used at least a little and it's definitely not from 1959. Why would they have removed the paper from the rolls if they'd never used it?

If it were, the switch and release lever would be red, the agitator black, as you said, and it would say "Maytag Gyratator Washer" on the plate, not wringer washer. And I think the footpedal came out in the late 60s. The blue agitator and switches in the mid 60s.

There was one for a while that was actually brand new, including paper still on the rolls, listed for about $230. Even then it didn't sell for some time and I didn't think to look back but I bet they may have lowered the price as well.

this maytag has the silver and black tag in the back so that means it is one of the last ones made late 70s early 80s. Don

1986 was the last year for Maytag wringers.
