Dishwasher recall

AT least GE is offering more of a refund then Whirlpool did for the Maytags with the same problems. All Whirlpool offered was $75.00. GE is offering $150.00 for the GE label and $300.00 for GE profile label.

Ok now my mom is freaked out

Her dishwasher is a GSD4030Z02WW, Ser # TT8842780

Yup its recalled.. Now she thinks the house will burn down and theres no way to disconnect power to it, as the wireing is weird in her house.. Great...She was yelling at my step dad for using that damn Jet Dry.. LoL They just don't have the money to replace it yet.. But they only can replace it with a GE??? That stinks.. Mom would really like a maytag unit..

This is too funny...just the week my Fisher and Paykel dishdrawer dishwasher has spring a leak in the rinse agent dispenser. The top drawer leaks the rinse agent down the front of the lower drawer. I wonder if there is something going on with the rinse agent causing all this or just faulty dispensers being put into these machine. I am going to put a call out to get it fixed since the dealer where we bought the beast doesnt service them. Maddening to say the least.

Very interesting. I saw the report on Fox today which I thought was a bit misleading for the average consumer, as the machine they showed wasn't a machine from 1997-2001 on the recall list, but one that looked closer to 1987. Wonder how many false reports GE will receive from customers who don't check the model numbers?

1- Nothing has changed but what she knows.
2- Just don't refill the dispenser for now
3- Can't it be shut off by way of the circuit breaker if one insists on losing sleep?

No Toggles, some dum bass wired the following along with the dishwasher:
Kitchen Overhead Light
Disposer
Both Bathroom Fans
and and the exterior lights. You have to flip the kitchen light switch on and the disposer switch on in order for the disposer to work. Vice versa for the light to be on. Some one isntalled a motion sensor for the kitchen light to work right. Mom called an electicion to come and fix the wiring

recall

I have one of the recently re-called Maytags. Repairs done, mine had damage. BUT>>>>> what I recently discovered was that the door liner (which was replaced) is under warranty for twenty years, so Maytag/Whirlpool is doing nothing but honoring their warranties....imagine that!!!!
