OMG OMG OMG. Madame has the vapours.
This is mom's TOL Lady Kenmore that was purchased circa 1968.

The round dial-like cup is actually a holder for neon status-of-cycle indicator lights W-R-R-W-R-R-D
The slide switch is a selectable 12 or 26 minute dry
The three square lights on the right are the water temperature indicator lighs. I believe they are labeled "cool", "normal, and "Sanitary temp."

This machine may also have had two 10 watt bulbs over the rectangular pusbutton swithces to illumiante them. (On her later 73 model the selector buttons where chromed and they did have lights above it.)

Gansky, any chance of some pics of your similar but slightly more modern machine. Esp. all lit up. Pretty please with a cherry on top. :-)

GadgetGary is inquiring to me as to the roto-rack. Who wants to clue him in?

Thank you Greg!

Perhaps tons of water, tons of pressure, six water changes and a Roto-rack explains no yibbles in the glasses located "in the corners.."

IIRC:

Heavy Wash
Normal Wash
Light Wash
Rinse & Dry
Rinse & Hold

Sani. temp
Cancel & Drain

My instinct tells me there should be a "plate warmer" selection/cycle/programme, but I really don't recall one.

As a kid it was fascinating to hear the hidden mechanical timer clicking and advancing to the proper starting position.

We had the built in Lady Kenmore, which was all buttons in about 1972, great dishwasher, had it all, including Sani-Temp. It actually came with white/avacado panels each side reversible and coppertone/almond reversible. The frame held these two panels in 4 colors on both the front and the access panels. It was fun to fool mom and reverse them. By the way, what a great idea that should have lasted. It was just painted sheet metal, but such fun. The Lady K did it all in the 70's.

Yay germ-o-phobes!

The upper spray arm is jsut a one inch wide tube (2.5cm) that juts out from the center (L to R) of the rear of the machine to a depth of about half the upper-rack rack, say one foot, shy. (30cm). It sprayd up and to the right, thereby causing the Roto-rack to spin counter (anti-) clockwise.
There is a screw-off cap at the end of the tube for cleaning it of debris.

The graphics read
SEARS
LADY KENMORE
AUTOMATIC DISHWASHER
WITH HYGIENIC RINSE

I know my mother bought this one to prevent one child's illnesses /colds from cross-contaminating the other children.

(A spash of bleach in the water would have been a lot less expensive and faster!)

May be true that it wasn't used, but....

I'm thinking it looks.....faded. Possibly not stored properly?
