More Of The Norge Dryer: For Bob Appnut, the lint filter door is not missing. Here are some pix of how it looks and works on this model:

That's awesome that the owner's manual came with it! I remember my Grandma's '62 Wards dryer had the same type of lint filter drawer. My '64 Norge dryer has the "stop 'n dry" feature but it's a lever you turn inside the dryer drum.

Jimmy:

Was Appnut saying you did not have a lint filter? I thought the original postings of your new Noge' dryer clearly showed that. Just wondering. Very nice.

Steve

Hi Steve, Yes, on the other picture post for this dryer "Miss Norge Dispensomat Finds A Mate" Bob Appnut asked if the dryer lint filter door was missing. It is not as shown in the above pics.......its just painted black on this model..........and does not show up very well when snapping a photo.........

What a fantastic machine, Jimmy. Enjoy! I bet this was a "seasonal" dryer.

I had forgotten about the lint filter being on the bottom of these machines. I'm pretty sure my mom's mid 50's vintage Time-Line dryer had the filter down below and so did her '68 Wards Signature that replaced it. The Signature had "Stop-N-Dry" feature which was activated by turning the subject control knob to somehow disengage the motor from turning the drum. The knob had a lot of resistance when turning it and one always felt that you were going to break something. That feature was rarely if ever used.
