I was wondering if anyone here in the club owned one of the Danby twin tub machines? My Kenmore laundry center is starting to show its age, and I am curious as to how well they hold up to regular laundry. At $300 plus shipping, they're not any cheaper than an automatic and I would hate to pay that kind of money and have it only last a year or two.

I own a wringer machine, and I'm interested in the twin tub machine, because hopefully, like its older counterpart, you can reuse the wash and rinse water on lightly soiled clothing. I'm also intrigued by the spinner and its 1400 rpm spin speed. Maybe this and a couple of drying racks would alleviate the need for an electric dryer (trying to make our home more energy efficient).

Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks,
Mike

I Have One In My Storage Closet

Mike,
I have one that I barely use. It's stored in my storage closet. It's a great machine. Washes great and spins fantastic.

Also, the spinning rpms is 1600.

I was wondering about the spin speed. Some sites list it at 1400 and some list at 1600.

I would imagine you have some very dry duds after the final spin. :-) Maybe I could get by with a couple of drying racks for winter.
