That is indeed a relatively new Bauknecht "Trockner". Not exactly my favourite brand as you all might know by now. The window is a nice feature though. Here's a picture of a Bauknecht dryer.

We have such a dryer in vented model. It about 8 years old now, but I don't like it. Cleaning the lintfilter is horror... And it's to small!!! Next time I buy a dryer, it must be one with the filter in the door (sadly enough only Miele and the electrolux brands has those).

Yes, there're made in Schorndorf in the south of Germany. I used to be a CO_OP there for some time (Product Development & Engineering Department).

Here's a behind-the-scenes movie from Bauknecht (60 MB). You have to click on "Mehr Informationen >>" next to the Kenmore washer picture to watch the movie.

Yes, I love the window in the door of these tumble dryers, it looks fab! Couple that with the back of the drum which is always stationary, and you have 1 of the best dryers you could ever see working, How cool is that!

Just a couple of things regarding Bauknecht/Whirlpool tumble dryers.

Firstly, the windowed door should be standard on every single model, it's a bit depressing not having a window. But maybe it's possible to change the door from an opaque one to a window one, they're both the same really with that difference.

And Secondly, You may have noticed a change in the airflow pattern on recent models where it has more holes for faster and more efficent drying whereas the previous pattern was in the shape of a rainbow.

I'd love to see more pictures and info on these dryers, just to keep the thread going!
