Is anyone familiar with this GE washer? I don't believe I've ever seen this particular console (the "hood" reminds me of an Amana), but the GE logo is in the lower left hand corner. Appears to be post-filter-flo vintage, but the top has the recessed hand grip in the center, not on the front right corner. Comments?

This model was made by Amana for GE along with its matching dryer exclusively for The Home Depot. At that time,GE had no stainless steel tubs in their washers or dryers and HD needed to have a set with ss tubs to compete with brands(Amana,Fisher Pakel, and Whirlpool)that had select models available.I sold plenty of them. The washer sold for $499 and the dryer was $399/el./$459/gas.

Remember Gansky,There have been and still are other sluts that have GE making products for them too!Like prostitution,it's the oldest profession around. Why take the money and time to set the tools along the assembly lines when you can save by writing a contract with your competitor to make X amount of your front loading stackale washer dryer sets while you supply motors for there top loading washers and elements for their ranges. It all evens out with no cash involved.

I can already hear the bad tub bearing. Pathetic. |
