I think your right about the average age of UK members... well i am 22 anyway haha

Good find on the advert!

What i would give to see that washing machine in action! I knew three people who had Bendix machines but never got a chance to see one spinning. Well, hear it spinning

Great find Seamus

I was lucky enough for my form room at secondary school to be a Home Economics room. Sat right behind me was a Bendix 7147.

David - I can confirm the 7147 was VERY quiet and was left running during lessons. Lovely bit of kit.

Mrs Lewis had the follow on machine - 7147B - and doesn't she look happy with it!

Cheers
Paul

The baby would have been sleeping quite as well if Mrs Lewis had a Hoover or a Hottie!

LOL!

LMAO!!!!!

Classic!

I paused it several times during especially the bit where it mentions about all the machines that reccommend Persil.

Zanussi
Miele
Candy!!!!!
of course even then Hoover reccomended Persil with Servis being the only one that reccomended Ariel.
Funny how the tables turn.

We had a square door Bendix in mid 1989 when our Candy Domino 4 had its first set of bearings put in at 18 months old.
My guess is that the Candy was difficult to work on or something and the local enigineer took it away out of guarantee and the Bendix was a loan machine.

Sadly I never saw it in action as we only had it for a week and my guess is Mum used it while I was at school if she did actually use it.

We didnt get a loan machine when the Candys bearings went again soon after, not that I remember anyway.

Same classic drum that my Nanas Philco from 1985 or so had its a shame they dropped the square door but at least it was chrome LOL!

Great Advert Seamus! im all smiles at the min.

R
