Pardon me if this is old news, but I have recently heard the TV ads for the Maytag Centennial Top-Load Washer. It claims to have a commercial-grade transmission and stainless steel tub. Does anybody own this or at least seen one? It's on the Maytag.com site.--Laundry Shark

The Centennial washer is just a DD Whirlpool clone. They slapped a stainless tub in there and Whirlpool uses the same DD transmission in their coin-op toploaders so they call it commercial grade. (I think their commercial toploaders are some of the worst made!)

As stated before, you'd think for the century old Maytag, everything would be brought back like it was in the 70's, but NO. They HAD to slap Maytag on a so obvious Whirlpool thing. And that also comes with the oh so boring Whirlpool Manual. Same goes for Amana, from my surf on that website.

Sick, just sick.

And it's not even a nice tub either, it has a lot of seams and is kinda rough - even the Atlantis tub was a lot nicer.

They Don't Make 'Em Like They Used To!

So strangely different (in name plates only); yet, so much the same generic machines. Thanks for your feedback.--Laundry Shark
