I went to a camping & RVing show today here in town, and was looking around at all the luxurious motorhomes and other neat RV's. My favroite was the new interiors in the Airstream campers. They have a real retro-modern look to them.

I snapped this picture from the inside of a #385,000 motorhome on a bus chassis. The motorhome has two slide-outs, plasma Tv's in it, and all sorts of stuff I don't even have in my home. Inside the head (restroom for all you land-lubbers!) was a closet door. Upon folding it back, I found this neat little splendide beauty! They've put everyting in the new RV's and motorhomes, but the washing machine is one thing that has always been missing...until now. I just find it's location interesting. While you're sitting there "taking care of business" on the head, you can watch your laundry splashing around and getting clean inside. The dryer side is gas, so you can even use this little wonder while you're out on the road!

Too cool! I've been to a few RV shows and I usually see the W/D combos near the kitchen area on the upper-end Winnebagos/Holiday Ramblers/etc. First time I've seen it here, across from "the throne". You definitely won't need a magazine rack in the bathroom with this! Although the thought of someone loading the washer or worse, taking laundry out and folding it while "doing their business" is a little strange...

I didn't see any Airstream trailers last summer. I really wanted to see how the International CCD design looked "in person"...the interior is my choice of decor!

RVs with wheelchair lifts

Hey, did you happen to see any rv's with wheelchair lifts or ramps? If I ever get an RV, it's gonna need one so my hunny can get in too.

The airstream International CCD interior is way cool! The family had to tear me out of that thing with a can-opener I was so attached to it! Most RV's sort of try an make you look like you are still at home. The International CCD makes you look like you are on board the Starship Enterprize! I've never seen a retro-modern interior on an RV.

The Airstream camper has neat road warrior features like LED and fluroescent lamps that pull minimal power off the battery, a solar recharging system, and a satellite internet & TV system. No washer in the little airstreams though. I believe it's an option on their larger motorhomes though.

I did see a few trailers that would be wheelchair-friendly. Two models had sliding glass doors, that I would think would accept a lift rather easily. One motorhome did have a lift, and was specifically set up to be wheelchair accessable. One thing that would work for you too would be one of those "toy hauler" trailers. They have a rear door that comes down like a ramp to load bikes & ATV's

Here's a picture of the inside of the Airstream Globetrotter camper. Excuse the blearyness of the image, I tried to take it without the flash to show the cool lighting.

An uncle of mine had several rv's and motor homes, he was a very tall man and had to have most of them custom made with extra-long beds. My favorite of the ones I saw had a washer/dryer stack (whirlpool, slide out washer under dryer) back in the late 70's. Dryer used bottled gas, vented straight out the sidewall.

Thanks for the pics - I always loved peeking in these at the sports shows, when I was dragged there kicking and screaming ;-)
