Always like to see a machine in action! I couldn't read the speed settings---does 'Normal' provide slow agitation with fast spin? That didn't appear to be the Kenmore high speed agitation. Thanks for taking the time to post the vid.

Comment 1: Where's the rug! Never saw it come up and turn over. Isn't that kinda too much water? :-)

Comment 2: Interesting to note the water level control is not at the highest setting .. but that looks equivalent to the highest fill my KA will do. Do some direct-drive machines now actually fill to the top of the basket/agitator?

dadoes:

1.)the rug was kinda at the bottom in the rinse it came up to the top.
2.)yea thats one mark before LARGE when its on large it fills all the way to the top all you see is the fabric softener dispenser and a little bit of the top of the agitator collar.

Thank you for the video. That aws definitely plenty of water & room for that rug. I didn't relaize the tub holes went all the way up to the top on the later DD Kenmores.

Rinsing...

How many rinses does this machine have? The water looks so dirty that it can do with some more rinses.

What a strange noise! What is that is squeaking? I never heard that before!

Great Washer, Vintagesearch! I always wanted to see the shredmore in action on low speed.

BTW, mielabor, it does have the extra rinse, but there isn't a button that has it, like mine when we were in Boston.

sounds like an aviary

I'm guessing that there must be a cage full of birds somewhere near the washing machine. I've worked on many direct drive washers and never heard that sound before. It sounds like a canary training record from Hartz~.

He says in the first post "please ignore the annoying birds in the basement."

Wow, that really is too much water for that little rug, although it makes for more gentle action.

Sounds just like my old DD washer! I remember the day when my beloved BD Whirlpool was replaced with a DD Kenmore, had I known better, I woulda asked dad to put the BD Whirly in the barn along with our old Whirlpool dishwasher! However, in the case of DD Kenmores/Whirlpools, I much prefer the sound of my grandpa's. He has one of the FIRST DD Kenmore machines, I love the spin drain and the grinding and snapping the auger makes as it agitates!
