I'd have a hard time finding this as I ususally look under the word "vintage" and not "antique". Doesn't ebay charge a fee based on how much your asking price is? I almost feel sorry for someone who is so 'out of it' - I mean, its kinda foolish. |

Perhaps the seller should be tied up with rope like the dryer Ross |

Did ya see it has to be "Whiped" down abit? I just looked at another wayout whacky auction where the receiver was used and the cabinet was "warn" down abit So it was marked down to 269.00! WAY OVER THE TOP If we all pool our money --the whole club mayber we can chip her down to $8,000 and save a vintage antique dryer -- THEY ARE SO RARE these days!! |

While we here are perfectly free to disagree with auction opening bids, it generally is not a good idea to contact eBay sellers with snide remarks about their auctions. It is one thing to make helpful pointers such as correcting make/model or giving helpful background information, emailing a seller to poke fun at their opening bid is at worse poor taste and at best an invitation to a nasty exchange. Such emailing could also land one afoul of eBay's TOS Those of us here have come to know and hopefully appreciate the rather tounge and cheek back and forth between members, however others might not take things the right way. |

Oh my and I am only 124 miles away too! I don't think i will jump on this bid any time soon. Talking about drugs, wasn't this the type of Westinghouse in the 1967 or '68 movie "Wait Until Dark?" A doll full of drugs was put in the washer or dryer during the movie? Just wondering? Gary |

It is a little frightening to think that some of these people vote. "It could be worth more than I am selling it for." Well, with that kind of logic, I guess anything is possible.Maybe we should all go and morgage the house and buy it..........Just testing you:)..i have things in my life, some for over twenty years, that when I bought them, they were throwing them out, now they are hot, hot, hot. Just because I am courious, how do you get a rust spot on a mint condition dryer and still ask a mint for it? PS: Maybe he failed to mention all of the money that is in the dryer after many years of use, as well as the bars of gold that he will throw in as a premeum.Just a thought Robert, Oh wise one, what is this thing really worth? Unrestored the way it is? I would say 200-300 would be my guess..........please enlighten us!! |

It's really kind of funny that they think it's worth that much money...I wonder what other "get rich quick" schemes they've come up with! Is there any end to people’s delusions? |

Sorry to hear about your situation. But it would seem to me that if you're needing money, you would put a REASONABLE price on it, so it would be assured of selling. At that price, you're going to have it a long time, and just be paying EBay fees. My opinions are given freely, value accordingly kennyGF |

Just so you all know! I am the one selling the dryer, and the reason the price is so high is because I have recently found out I have cancer! I am 26 years old and All I want is to be able to pay my medical bills and go see my fucking family in california before It's too late, but thank you all so much for your attention to me. GET A LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!Well first off all let me say whesleysgirl I am very sorry to hear about you recently diagnosed medical condition. But let’s put some logic to all of this, so you found our website and our Discuss-o-Mat, but did you notice on our home page is a button for our Wanted/Reward Page? If not here is a link to it: Wanted/Reward Page. Please make no mistake we have been buying and selling these machines for years and this website is the one and only place in 2007 that you will find experts on vintage automatic washers, dryers and dishwashers. We know them inside and out and we also know exactly what they are worth Now it clearly states in the first paragraph of the Rewards page “Rewards may be offered for early dishwashers and a few very rare dryers too“. Unfortunately vintage automatic dryers are just not as rare as vintage automatic washers. Now if you look at the listing for Westinghouse Laundromat Washers, which now you see are more valuable than the dryers, they are listed as a reward value of $200. So then listing a vintage dryer on eBay for $5,000 that is worth at best between $75 and $150 would make any person here call in to question the sellers sanity or at least the knowledge of what they really have. While I am sorry that you had to read some of the ridicule that we all participated in the above posting, you really can't blame any of us here. I don't know who has giving you the advice that this machine is worth so much money, but they are clearly mistaken. So the only advice we can offer you is if you really want to sell the dryer you are going to have to lower your price to something more in the range of the dryer’s true value. |

i am not a mean person, nor am I am melicious guy, but when I was sick and dying, I was not online buying clothes, and spendy ones at that.I was laying in bed, crying and hoping for a Miracle, which happened i am happy to say. That was over ten years ago, and I am healthy and happy. if she has cancer, I I hope that she gets better, although, from what I can read on her profile for E-bay, I would say that there is no doubt that there is some spin going on, and it is not in the dryer. i did not need a flatening iron, I needed something to stop my hair from falling out,I was a real mess, and I do mean real big mess. From what The evidence points only one way, it does not add up, nor make any sence.
