The Dryer still has the original Decal on it!

If there was such a thing as odometers on a washing machine , these have low milage

Hi Tim. I have always been a Ford person and just got a brand new F-150. The Filter Flo looks great.

Hey Tim, just accept it. There is no cure! Youve been bit by the collecting bug. I like the new truck and of course the new FilterFlo set. I just picked up a Harvest Gold dryer in gas that matches your set if you can use it. Weekly meeting of collectors anonymous meets Sunday, right after the Flea Market, yard sale, and last estate sale of the week!

Tim, fix yourself up to be able to use ALL of your machines as your daily drivers. It is great to have multiple. I do.

Wow, 2 matched sets of Matched sets! What are the chances.
(I'm giving you a pass on the harvest gold washer with the knob)
I love the models with the toggle switches too.
Ah, look if you need to make room, I will do you the favor and come to OH. to take them off your hands.

It is a tough decision on which to use. I think I would go with the harvest gold set. It is 2 speed and ... It's Harvest Gold.
I liked the fit of the console to the back panel. it was like perfect whereas in the 80s for some reason they made the consoles chrome trim piece overlap the back support and they stuck out on the edges, It was sloppy.
If you look in your picture you can see on the dryer. Starting at the top you have the chrome piece than as you go down the rear panel is set in. This is because the chrome piece was designed to overly big. On the 70s set there is a smooth flow from the console support to the chrome trim piece. No ridge. I know it sounds petty, but I notice these things.

Both nice set though, congradulations.

Hey Timonator,

Could you do me a HUGE favor and post the model number of the beautiful Gold and White panelled GE solid tub washer in the background of that first pic? I'm betting it's WA855T, but I have no way to be sure.

At least the solid tub machine with the gold control panel in the background was more thrifty with water than the GEs with a perforated tub. Does it have a matching dryer also? I love pedal-activated door latches, reminders that there once was a time when appliance manufacturers added features to their products that made you want to choose one brand over another or choose a model a step or two above the lower end of the line. The new pair looks great. Enjoy.

Tim, 1960 was GE's "Golden Anniversary" line so there was usually some "gold" on the control panels somewhere. The dryer is probably a 1959 model (1958, 1959 and 1961 models featured a lot of blue). The silver models are an oddity and make me think that when the paint wore off, somebody removed it all to make it look newer. As far as the panels being raised or not, there appears to be little rhyme or reason except that, at the beginning, TOL models had raised panels and lower end models didn't. That changed later as CU began to criticize raised panel washers and dryers(clothes would escape behind the machines via the gap). Could you post the model numbers of that gold washer and the blue dryer?
