Have to decide by 11 tomorrow morning whether to buy a
used set of Duets (9400 washer, 9250 dryer). These are
not the same as the ones I mentioned in the "yellow"
forum. No pedestals, $1100 instead of $1000. I thought
I read these are stackable, but do they need a special
part to stack? Would be installed on a linoleum tiled
cement floor (basement). year and a half old, good
shape, gas dryer. Owner said they were properly used
with HE detergent - he's moving in with his girl friend
who has the exact same machines so that is why they
are selling.

From everything I've read, I should be happy with these?

I would look at them before I buy them. They are stackable, but the kit is just a couple of clips to anchor the dryer on top of the washer, not an expensive part. Is the $1100 for both? At that price for both and the machines are a year and a half old, the guy is almost a philanthropist.

I did look at them last night. But they were in a storage
unit - which concerns me now since I just read something a
bit ago that they (or at least the washer?) should not be
moved to a new location unitl a "specialist secures the
works". Wondering what could be damamged in the process.

I did find the stacking kit online for $20 so not a big
thing I guess - though now I'm thinking stacking would
put the dryer controls up pretty high. If my mom was
ever here, she might not be able to reach them. So I'm
thinking of building my own pedestal/drawer to get them
at exactly the height I would like.

What to do...
