Ok, this morning I was doing laundry as usual (4 loads...) even if I'm on holiday at parent's for two weeks, when the washing machine broke... it was the pump/filter that gave up. Suddenly water started running down the floor and the laundry room was all wet.
The machine is Merloni made and lasted 12 years (a clone of the other I posted few weeks ago, no worth reparing).

Now a new washer is needed, spinning speed isn't that important because we line dry. Spun at 400rpm, in summer, clothes dry in 40-50 minutes (towels too), in winter, it takes half day. If it is bad time we just bring stuff to my dad's laundry. The size sould be 5kg (not more, big loads just go to the laundy).
To my parents most important are the energy and water efficency, nothing worse then A energy, better if A+. Low water consumption (no more than 45L I say) and price tag lower than 500 euros (maybe a little more) (mom says).
I already know what you most think about Italian brands, so...what do you say?

I completely agree with you Lederstiefel! Miele, immer besser!!!And don't forget that anything else would be a compromise... :-)

Yup, I know, but who says to mommy that the least expensive Miele costs 750 euros?
Now she said she wants a machine that also has hot fills and the only one i know of in Italy is Lg WFT6500TP (6kg load) and the ones in 8 and 10 kg, it's strange because it's like an America top oader but it doesn't have a central agitator but 3 small "fans" and uses between 24-55 litres of water. Even Indesit has hot fill washers but they aren't sold in Italy!!! That's unbeliavable!
Other brands are Miele (hot fill starts at 1300 euros) and Whirlpool (my dad bought a ten kg machine but it's way too big, 1100€).
