Anyone out there know the brand of the washer-dryer on "Green Acres"?

I've been re-watching the old episodes thanks to the miracle of DVD boxed sets and I keep trying to get the brand of the honking big washer/dryer combo unit that graced the Douglas's kitchen in Hooterville. Was it a Maytag?? I hadn't remembered the appliances were all pink, what a trip!

Thanks! I had a feeling it was, but I could never get a clear enough still on the control panel. I can now sleep at night again...

Only one known to exist - and it works (most of the time) but it's not pink like Green Acres, that would be too much to ask the washer gods for!

There was one in the Maytag store as well. Is that store still open or has it been closed down due to the takeover by Whirlpool? If so, I wonder what will happen to the combo.

What is the spin speed on this machine? And didn't some Green Acres episodes have a round window combo?

Nice Maytags!

I think there was an episode where Arnold the pig enjoyed watching the washer (he thought it was a TV).

The show's producers must have fashioned a door with a round window for the machine, because I seem to recall a round window also in that episode.

Maybe I'm dreaming, but I think I remember something like that.

Greg, your Tag Combo is beautiful!

You have a beautiful collection! I can only hope to get to that point.

You're right Louis, that new - never used combo in the Maytag factory store was beautiful but I'll bet it wouldn't work for long if hooked up ;-)

This machine spins @ 340 rpm - not much better than most of the early combos aside from Bendix @ 505 rpm.

I thought in some episodes there were 2 machines, it's been so long ago. IIRC, Lisa in 1 episode washed Mrs. Ziffel's curtains, with them still on the curtain rod. When ever this comes up I always wonder if different television stations, only leased or purchased different season's of G.Acres, after it went into syndication. Was usually always televised in a after school time slot. alr2903 (this has been a Filmways Presentation, dahlink"

I think I remember seeing 2 machines in some of the episodes as well.

So, these machines, it sounds like, are prone to problems. What is the main issue with them?

Years ago, there was a Maytag combo, in white, at a flea market type place near here. As Ernie Harwell used to say, "it's loooonnnng gone".
