Some friends of ours had the same Maytag. Very basic, just hot or warm water temp and that was IT. I've never seen or read about one here, so they must be very rare. Kelly |

Marty, I have a console pic of this machine. Actually, I think there were a couple similar models. I need to dig it out; it's in NY. They did exist in the early 50's. Bobby in Boston |

A while back, there was a small discussion about the Highlanders - it seems that your friend's parents had a 123 with the toggles! The write-up about the Highlanders is pretty detailed - not everything is 100 percent, but close enough. Ben CLICK HERE TO GO TO swestoyz's LINK |

What's the parts situation on this generation of Maytags? Are they so old that they're best retired to collections where they're used only on occasion? My mother had a pair of 'Tags from this era that came with a house my parents bought in '74. She never really liked them, and eventually replaced them with a Kenmore stack unit (FEH!). I only wish I'd known then what I know now! The 'Tags are long gone, I'm afraid- probably Toyota fenders by now. |
