A friend of mine bought a new home the last tenants sold the w/d with the house, she wanted a stack unit and was gonna throw the old ones to the curb i happened to ride by at the right time told her i would take both the dryer is only a yr old how do u tell the age of a whirpool washer its fairly new Ron |

I think stating that couplers break every 5 years is an exaggeration. My grandmother's Design2000 never had the coupler break in the probably 14 years she had it. My parents' 1994 KA broke late last year (or was it early this year?) for the first time, approx 13 years. My 1992 KA broke the coupler sometime in early 2004, about 12 years.
