I wonder if it's a copy of the Neptune T/L or if WP sold the rights to Haier? If I had to guess... This machine also from Haier looks pretty cool - the "Learn More" animations are very cool. CLICK HERE TO GO TO gansky1's LINK |

Yeah, that's dumb that LG is only marketing it in Europe amongst the Front-Loaders. But the Genesis machine is a lot like the LG Top-Loader. |

Wow! The Equator Corp. Washer/Dryer combo! The world's first Top-Loading washer dryer combo! Could someone please give a link to that on Equator's web-site. |

No dear, that is not the world's first. We already have them for decades overhere in Europe. Especially the French seem to like toploading combo's. In the past Thomson-Brandt, AEG, Bosch and Siemens, Miele and many other brands sold them. Nowadays Brandt and some other French brands seem to be the most important sellers of these combo's.

But do those provide one-touch operation and the ability to self-diagnose problems and order repair service? Because the Cobra can! |

I've always thought that this style of washing was kind of strange, yet interesting. I wonder how effective it really is in comparison to conventional front loaders? Were the Maytag versions of this machine reliable? They seem so rare... |

No, AFAIK the clutches on these weren't the best. However, I guess you would never get fluffy clothing out of that thing. Laundry never lifts up and drops, so air flow through the laundry wouldn't be sufficient for fluffy results. |

You were correct, Malcom, Haier did prototype a version of this design shortly after Maytag was no more. IIRC it was around 2007-08. I believe there is a member in Phoenix that has one. The Haier version had a double lid; a clear, locking lid under the outer door on top of the cabinet.
I wonder if Haier were able to solve the small load issues that Maytag had. Virtually no turnover-rolling of small loads and almost a complete inability to spin the same small load. |
