Hi Guys

I have filmed the Hotpoint top loader 1509/05 so you all can see it in action.

This particular machine was manufactured in April 1977.

Its the third version of the model 1509 as there were four..1509 - 01/02/05/10. The last model version the 10 was named the "Liberator Super De Luxe". The other previous models were all named "Automatic De Luxe".

Im currently uploading the vids as im typing so depending on when you read this message not all vids may be uploaded.

Hope you all enjoy them.

Mark

Hi there Mark.

WOW WOW WOW. It looks superb!
The restoration job you had done on it has produced a fantastic result - stunning.

A preserved Liberator is always a good thing. I just hope and pray that, one day, a good old 1828 (or Zanussi style 1823/1826 or variable 1848 for that matter - or even an ancient 1850 or 1851) turns up on ebay. It would be great to see a purple Liberator front loader again.

How is your Microtronic coming along? There has been a recent surge in the sale of matching Reversomatic dryers on ebay recently - did you bite at all?

Over to Youtube I go - assuming that is where they are being posted to.

Cheers
Paul

Hi Paul!

Thanks for your message. I have left you a message in the first thread I did announcing my return.

The microtronic is working well but whilst in storage it got damaged :( The bed frame fell onto it and smashed the front of the dispenser drawer to bits. Im trying my hardest to get another one. heres hoping.

You mentioning the 1826 reminded me I came across some photos of the 1826. I had one and wished id kept it but it just cosmetically was in a bad way. I didnt know anyone who could take the cabinet off and respray it. Thankfully I took photos and ive only recently come across them. Ive put them in a new thread for you and all to see.

Hi Neil!

It shall never be yours!...lol

Mark

Very cool. Like a GE Filter-Flo except for the spin. It makes that little "eert" like a Unimatic just as the tub comes to a stop. Makes me wish we had them over here in the U.S.

I enjoyed the videos and commentary, but most of all you singing the Hotpoint jingle. It's stuck in my head now!

Perhaps some US readers can send you some of our high suds detergent for an even more exciting wash cycle. ;)

OOOPPS.......Forgot to put the link on!

Thanks Matt for putting it on.

Thanks all for your comments. Glad you enjoyed the vids.

Glad someone enjoyed the jingle..lol. I didn't know what to do whilst waiting for the thermostat so thought a bit of entertainment was a good idea...typical me..daft as a brush.

Its nice to have a machine kinda like the filter flow as I like them. Any machine with an effective lint filter is great in my book. Its especially good if you have pets!

Great vids Mark.

Love the timelines - a real shame they didn't spread to frontloaders. Much better than the boring lights we have today - they don't even flash any more!

Love the commentary as well - really useful for someone who never really had an interest in top loaders when a kid and so tended to ignore them.
Are you going to show us how to use a Microtronic and Quartz at all? Hint hint!

Once again, you have a brilliant machine in that 1509/05 - looks stunning.

Cheers
Paul
