The is the 3.5 front load that Frigidaire made for Sears. It is just like the current Frigidaire 2140. Yesterday a load of towels was run and spun out ok. Last night my wife started a load and now it won't spin. We did have a thunder storm come through but no strikes. We have tried several cycles to spin but it won't Unplugged over night and this morning the same. Any ideas. Could this be the control board. We purchased in Feburary of 2005 it was built in 01/05. This is one of the first ones out for Sears even before Frigidaire brought out their models.
Could this be the control board. We are callinn Sears this morning it is under extended warrenty.

I've said before

This is just not acceptable. Maybe they are simpler, but when
have you heard of a "digital" microwave "control board" go out?
Unless you have a significant lightning hit, when is the last
time you had a TV or stereo die? Cars now have electronics
and they endure a lot of environmental hazards. How often do
they die? How many times have I dropped my cellphone on
pavement and it still works?

I may have to take the timer on my 1-18 apart now and then,
but it is near 30 years old and still works. Who's designing
these machines anyway?

Just setup for Service to come out on Sept. 4. At least have the extended warranty on it. Was a free addon otherwise would not have purchased. The machine has run flawlessly since we purchased in Feb 05. Will wait and see. Not to hip on Sears service in our area. Even though I told them what is not happening I don't think they will bring the part. Will look at then order then another wait for them to come repair.

If there is no drum movement at all, just filling and draining, then it's usually the motor control board.

It fills and washes/rinses and tumbles both directions just no spin on and of the cycles.

Update

It was the doorlock module that was out. They replaced it. The door lock light came on but did not lock.
