My brother-in law called me this morning about the washer, a Frigimore that was not pumping the water out or spinning. To me it sounds like a pump issue, the thing is, the machine is 14 months old. Granted, it is a Frigimore. What does everyone think? Sears at this moment said that they will cover the parts and nothing else, as of this moment. I was reading on e-opinions this morning right before my brother-in law called.Funny huh?!

Does sound like something's blocking the pump inlet, or something stalling the impeller. Front loaders are notorious for things getting into the pump. If it doesn't drain the water, it will not go into high speed spin, though it may do a slow spin.

James, my brother-in law, checked the pump though the door on the bottom, what he found was nothing, however, he felt something that was hot, I assume that was the pump, I am going over later to invesigate myself. i hope that it is just a blockage and not a pump. Are these machines prone to that?

Not very often. Pump reliabilikty has improved greatly. Only when a foreign object gets into it does it damage.

UPDATE 04 Sept 2007

Hello everyone............Thank you for the suggestions..................I learned something today......the Frigimores, at least this one, does not have a coin catcher like my washer does. As a result, it is much harder to get things out when they get stuck in it. My friend wanted to call a repair guy from Sears, which worked out well for her. He did charge her for the repair(150.00 with the service call)which was cleaning out the pump. It was a popcycle stick, 6 bobby pins, and 36 cents in change. If it needs to be done again, i will be a little more brave to open it up and try and fix it. Strange but the Sears people never took out the syrafoam that was below, he said that they were tub restaints, I had a hard time believing that Sears hooked it up, and forgot to take them out.........weird huh? The machine is working again.
