Hi!

I just bought a set of Maytag A806 Washer and a "Halo of Heat Dryer"
both white and I by checking the serial I think they are from 1971...
would anyone have a copy of the owner's manual?
is it still possible to find those?
the dryer is pretty easy to figure out
but I would like to know more about the Washer' s functions

PLUS;
unfortunately, I changed the fluorescent lights inside the panels and they don't seem to be working, so I've got to check if it's a wire problem, a transfo problem or anything else out of my capacities!!!
PS: should they be lit all the time the machines are working?

thanks for your help

Yanie

Yanie:

Yes, the lights should be working all the time the mahcine is. Try to replace the FS2 starter and get a new bulb as well. Not a hard fix, very easy.

I dont have the manuals, sorry, but keep the faith.

Steve

thanks for the tip!

I allready changed both bulbs
so it might be the starters (on both the washer and dryer!!)
I'll check it out
are the starters available only at Maytag or other appliance store
or can I find them in a hardware store?

thanks a lot

Yanie

FS2 Starters...

...are usually easily had wherever flourescent bulbs/fixtures are sold. Hardware stores should have plenty. Good luck!

As long as the starter says it supports 20 watts (it'll say something like 14W, 15W, 20W) it'll work. I just replaced the original FS2 starter in my 64 Maytag with one from Home Depot and it works properly.
