Hello everybody! I am a new member here - Darren K. - not to be confused with Darren from the U.K. (hi Darren from U.K...your collection is great) I finally joined after a year of admiring everyone's collections and all the beautiful people here. Again, I think you all tremendous and very, very special people. It is extremely difficult to speak about washers to everyday people without them thinking you are crazy or the blank stare you get when you elaborate about them..you know what i mean?! So I think I'll start it off like this..I am visiting John and Cal and what better way to start then show one of the last sort of Lady K Kenmores or whirlmores..correct me if I am wrong. It was so much fun and cool to wash with the last lighted control panel Kenmore, famous or infamous direct drive machines in midnite black. It's the ELECTRONIC 90 Series Model and it's model # is 110.26955690. I have so much to share with you guys with my collection at home...p.s. Robert is the best!!! God Bless him!!! Of course so are all the members as well as John and Cal for letting me bombard them with my machine madness..lol..peace..Darren K....also, i had tried to post multiple pics to one thread here but it seems to only let me post one..anyone help with this???

I know, awkward Layout, but I've got a lot stuffed into this room. The washer has a Lo-Speed Spin option instead of the Wrinkle-Guard of the later models. When was the last year of the lighted console kenmores? |

Funguy10, I can start by saying that the cycles are extremely flexible. Soak or Prewash, Second Rinse and Wrinkle Guard can be set on all cycles with up to 9 hours delay wash. Custom memory remembers what cycle you used and will fill to last water level and wash temps and time that the last cycle was used including second rinse. Preset memory uses default factory setting which is 10 mins. wash, warm water and high water level when using Heavy duty/Normal cycle. The cycles are endless...... Hey Nelson, I was about to buy that set back in between 1995-1996, but I just went for the newer addition which I didn't care for way it look at that time, but now I find it somewhat sleeker looking and not only that, I was looking for the belt drive version in the electronic 90 Series with your control panel look. No luck at that time and I will not trade this beauty for anything else....... Your set is a DD right? |

Could either of you post vide of the machines washing? You can trick the lidswitch by locating it under the lid as an indented button and pushing it down with a toothbrush, screwdriver etc. |

Hi everyone! I am so excited to be in contact and to share..sorry it took a bit for me to respond...thanks to all again and hope to talk to each of you soon.. The KENMORE washer features are: 1. 6 Cycles 2. 5 options 3. ATC/ with option to turn off gives you a true hot wash or when on activates warm water on cold settings to increase detergent enzymes. 4. 3.0 cubic-ft basket.- Larry, my uncle cal never had it repaired. The basket came with it. Maybe they were tooling up for the new DD to come and were fortunate to get the newer basket..where is dick s. when you need him--lol--. 5. Triple bogus action agitator..spring loaded..really a dual action agitator. Never really saw the benefit of the springyness of the mechanism. It is suppossed to adjust to the load. I personally like the first generation dual action, belt-driven models. It was a longer augur..more spirals but the DD do roll-over much faster. 6. Insulated cabinent. 7. Triple dispenser with bypass switch to cancel detergent dispenser. I guess it is for people who prefer to add manually to basket (for me it depends on the mood i'm in..lol). 8. True 3-speed agitation and one pulsed on-hand wash program. 9.Spin speed 640 rpm.- not the best extraction rate but this is what half or more americans' in this country are extracting at in standard top loaders. We just can't seem to get past it. I am an appliance salesman and most people still think that high speed spins are going to ruin their clothes..go figure. We are not educated about extraction rates and other sales people don't bother to explain and leaves these poor people in the dark (except my customers!!!) but that's a whole other thread. AAH 800 or 1000 should be standard. I have learned so much from European machines thats why my fav top load standard washer is F.& P. @ 1000. It is the winner at $ 599.0 and with rebate it comes to $ 499.00 but i am really bored with direct drive washers. Whirpool, Kenmore, Kitchen Aid (no longer in production) and Inglis..i am missing a couple under the Whirlpool badge. I think for a trillion dollar corp. they can come up with a machine at $ 399.00 ( thats the price most seem to like ) that can spin at 800 or 1000 rpm. That said, the Kenmore is still a fun and beautiful washer that deserves to be in anyone's collection and trust me i wash in all DD washers. How can you not? 1 out of 2 homes have them. ( i hate waitng for dryer time..call your manufacturers..lol.) Anyway, i am learning to use my camera to post videos but not there yet. I will make a fast effort...... hey Edurado, I love your videos of your Brastemp washer..thanks! Louis and Dadoes, I have been reading your threads and your collections for months..thanks alot ..they are truly wonderful! O.K. here are the dryer pics..hey, i just use auto drying all the time in various ways..the cycles are self-explanatory..touch up is fun when i am too lazy to iron polo shirts and khakis for work.. Best to all...darren K. p.s. i'd like to say hi to my best friends bill and dan who put up with my machine talk all the time.. i love you guys very much!! |

Hello her are a couple of things i dont like about this washer and any electroinic control paneled washers. 1. YOU CANT OVERRIDE THE WATER LEVEL LIKE MANUAL KNOB MACHINES [ and group can you raise the water level and how? on this machine. 2. DELAY START [ i dont know how to use it i tried and it just revert back or shuts of the control panel they dont have a manual ] 3.DISPENSERES [Thay sometime dilute the product right away like bleach &softner drives me nuts lol] 4 JUST WISHING [ Wish i could bump the RPM'S TO 1000 OR 1200 LOL] Will Larry & Nelson tell me about what you think about your models and anyone else who uses eletronic model washers kenmo! style, All in all it's still a great machine p.s. I have to replace the agitator, the augur has a nasty sound when it rotates especialy in a low water wash this is nothing new with dual action agitators. I had to replace my grandmothers agitaor when the same thing happend. I replaced the dog legs in top of the agitaor they move the augur, .But a year later they same sound came back, and who am i kidding ill was looking to upgrade it anyway they newer augur the vanes curled down more it was suppose roll more clothes over and it did compared to older style augur . HMM,,, QAULITY HAVE LEFT THE WHIRLPOOL FACTORY maybe one day thell get it back. Darren k |

Very simple to set. (If you using Soak or Prewash, add detergent directly into the tub). 1. Load machine. 2. Choose cycle then add detergent and softener into dispensers. 3. Choose water temp and water level. 4. Choose rinse options (Warm rinse, Wrinkle Guard or Second Rinse). 5. Hit delay (default time is one hour). 6. Change default time if more time needed by hitting Time Remaining up for more hours or less if needed. Close the lid then walk away..... Give it a try and let me know! Just remember, do not hit start or you'll automatically start the wash cycle. |

Since im up here, i would say that whirlmore DD washers are still are the number one wash system in america. The same wash concept for over tweenty some odd yeares. IT would be nice to see a change in a new!!! wash system for 399.99 the same washers they advertise every week in a sears paper im looking forward for the change from WHIRLPOOL/KENMORE LAUNDRY SYSTEMS.....
