Whats the history of this washer. It was certainly sold in Australia but was it sold in the US?

Wow! I didn't even realize Hoover made a standard automatic washer; The only ones I've ever seen are the semi-automatic twin-tub machines. Cool! Does anyone in the club have one of these babies?

This POD is for our friends 'down under', I got it in a lot of books on Ebay. It's a very cool washer and very similar in design to the Blackstone made Hoover full-size machines here in the states in the late 60's & early 70's. I found a set of Hoovers in Iowa a couple of years ago, see link for the pics. This set has ended up with the guys in Maryland.

Gansky---Do you know if Hoover designed/made their own washer, or was it outsourced from another company? I like the spiral-ramp agitator; reminds me of the early Kenmore or Easy agitators. Thanks for the pics!

Hoover top-loaders in the U.S. were manufactured by Blackstone.
