I'm assuming it's an 806 since it has the lighted console panel.

DE808

Is this a good dryer, I have one in almond in the garage,it has the lighted controls and the light in the drum and a few pushbuttons,I rescued it from the crusher,I've had it for a while and never tested it,they said it worked and even the gold on the control panel is in good condition, but the only problem is my everyday dryer is a de308 with timed controls, and has been very faithfull, it has a perfect white top,so if I wanted to use the 800 series I would have to take the top of of my trusty 308 and put it on the 808 and paint the cabinet white,I've had almond appliances before and I loved the 80's but everything is white now so this dryer would not look right in almond next to my dependable care washer in white, maytags look best in white IMOA,I really would like to find a matching gas dryer for my washer. Heck yeah, the 808 is a GREAT dryer and is TOL (top of the line)!! This Maytag lover thanks you for saving it from the crusher!

It would probably be best to be patient and find an almond A-806 washer to match the 808 dryer. If you have room, keep both sets. These machines aren't getting any younger and it's always a good idea to have back-ups incase one breaks down and needs work done. Thank God that doesn’t happen often though :>)
