I have the option of purchasing this beauty. I'm looking for any info about the machine. Is this model TOL, MOL, BOL? 1 or 2 speed motor? What options? The BIG question.......lighted console?!?!?! Thanks!!!

Dan

Sure do!

I actually posted this up some time ago, but by the time I got a truck and extra help lined up, the ad disappeared and I assumed it got snagged.

Of course, Murphy's Law is at it again and I’ll soon be on vacation for 2 weeks in North Carolina visiting my brother, so it’ll be a while before I’m able to pick it up (if it doesn't get snagged).

MOL

I have one of these. Good solid Tag. Alas, no lights whatsoever, but a solid maytag with an early powerfin agitator with chrome lint filter and black softener dispenser. The predecessor to the A606. No glamour, just guts.

Thanks for the pic of the different consoles. Looking at it I now know that my mom had an A502. She got it in the late 60s and it was still in use up until the day she died in 2001.

Thanks bajaespuma!!!

A picture is definitely worth a thousand words!

Is this washer equipped with the larger of the two tubs?

I noticed the pic indicated that the 702 contains an electrical lid switch. Does the 502 have a mercury switch? That would be cool!

Thanks again bajaespuma. I now have that pic set as my background wallpaper.

Is that thing about the "Automatic" button true? That means you press it and a wringer pops out.

You're welcome but that picture was posted last year by Partscounterman. So thank him.

Amongst other things about these consoles, I noticed that too. It is interesting that it was only the MOL models that had that feature. I guess it was just those having difficulty letting go of the old wringer habit.
