Do you know how to save the pics onto your computer? If you can get them on the computer, underneath the box used for typing posts on here, there is a little window that says "URL Link to share:" then under THAt there is another little window that says "Upload JPEG Format Picture to share in message:" Next to the little white window is a button that says "Browse..." Click that and find the pictures that you saved onto the computer, I personally would make a new folder on the desktop and save them there so they are easy to find. Once you've selected the image, hit "open" and then click the preview message button. It should show up below the text you put into the "Message:" box. Then hit "POST this to Discuss-O-Mat" and it should post it. You can only post one picture at a time however.

by the way... CONGRATS ON THE NEW MACHINES!!!! lol, in my excitement to see them I forgot to mention that! I have been eyeing the SQ frontloader for a little while now and I think that will be added to the list of things to buy... My list currently is composed of: -Alliance made Continental toploader -Miele T1415 dryer to match my washer -the new SQ Frontloader |

On commercial/laundromat SQ washing machines without pumps, there is no chance of "suds lock" (too much water/froth draining too fast for the pump to handle, thus machine slows down spinning to protect the pump/washer from damage), because the machine simply drains into a "pit". For the domestic units, SQ opted to shut off the pump, but keep the drains open to allowing gravity to remove water/froth without risking a suds locking condition that would slow down the washer. Remember these SQ washers are really commercial units, redesigned for home use. SQ tried to keep as many of the commercial qualities (design, construction and build quality), while accomodating the domestic user. Still make no mistake, the washing machines are about getting laundry done fast, just like their commercial cousins. Congrats on your new units! We want snaps!!!! L. |

If you have the pictures saved on the computer, go to the file with the images and right click on an image you want to post, go to "open with..." and click on "paint", this should show you the true size of the image you took. Once in paint, go the the "image" menu at the top and click on "stretch/skew" a window will pop up with 4 little spaces to type. The first 2 will say 100, change those to 50 and hit ok, this will half the size of your picture, keep doing that, until you get the size you want then go to "file" and "save." once you've done that, go back to the internet and try to post the pics again, if you shrank them enough, they will be allowed to be posted!

I see the door of your washer is damp and already closed... not so good for your washer! Open your door and vent the drum and tub so you don't have mold troubles within months... |

YAY!!!! The machines are absolutely GORGEOUS!!! I can't wait to get my hands on one!!! Perhaps I should bump the Alliance toploader to the end of the list... I might as well continue my frontload washer kick! This would be number 3!!! How does the drum look? Is the boot really deep? Do the baffles have perforations for showering? Are they plastic baffles?

I think the baffles are higher and so they look shorter. Higher baffles lift the laundry higher and let it fall deeper. So more, optimal action and better cleaning!!! |

While I'm glad to see that we can get washers that heat more readily in the US, I wonder why they don't use an adjustable heat like my Danby? I don't use anything over 140 very often, but I have used the 200 temp a few times. |

That is SQ's answer to preventing detergent/laundry aids from being flushed into the sump when the machine first fills. European washers like Miele, use various systems, including a "ball" that floats over to cover so detergent that is being dispensed is not flushed down into the pump as the machine fills. All front loaders as you probably know leave a little water in the pump even after the final spin is complete, to prevent the pump from drying out. If water/detergent is flushed right into the machine at the next fill, a good portion of the detergent water mixture will end up in the pump and never go into the tub to do it's business. Many newer European front loaders, including those made by Miele, take a page from dishwashers, and run the pump for a few seconds before starting to fill in wash cycles. Like dishwashers, the purpose is to push out old stagnat water so one is using "fresh" water for each wash cycle. L. |

I actually like our Speed Queen washers here. Okay, the detergent dispenser is a MESS but that's nothing unusual if students are using these machines. I wonder, however, why Speed Queen opted to use spin bursts instead of a "real" spin in between the rinses. It still does an OK job rinsing, though. What really surprised me was how well these machines wash - despite the ultra-short main wash of just 15 to 20 minutes including pre-wash (our washer at home takes 35 to 90 minutes w/o pre-wash). A non-typical (because it's clean) laundry room at my accomodation. |

Thanks Lee, I am glad to hear that these are not Raytheon machines. What threw me is that these machines are I'm guessing 10 years newer than my '97 Amana pair but still are using the same control and setting knobs and the dryer door design is identical to my old Amana. The backsplash is much nicer and these are very good looking masculine machines. I hope they hold up well, as my repair-prone Raytheon products were notoriously noisy and bad at pretty much everything they did. Tom, I hope these will be located away from indirect sunlight or flourescents. Otherwise the knobs and dryer door handle may all start to yellow. It would be worth covering the panels when the machines are not in use to keep those knobs bright white against that sleek background. Ralph |

Nice Speed Queens - I've heard very good things about these - I should go down to the local dealer and have a peek inside the door. Very nice Klipsch speaker too, do you have a pair of them? I've always wanted to hear them - dyed in the wool Advent fan here! The plastic knobs and panels shouldn't be any trouble, plastics are much more advanced and stable in these uses - quite unlikely that they will fade or discolor if kept relatively clean. They've improved a great deal since the ghastly yellowing of a decade ago... |

Here's a short video of my Speed Queen washer, an earlier model with a smaller door, but it has the same tub and wash action. I was told the water level was lowered on the big door models.

I have the same SQ dryer, but have the TL washer instead. 2 years now and still going great. Knobs haven't yellowed yet in spite of being next to a window. The finishes still look like new. No unbalanced spins on my TL machine. Congrats on your purchase. If I had the $$$ I'd buy the FL unit too. Yes, they do drip quality. The steel on these is simply solid. I went to the store the other day and felt-up the competition. Tin cans I say... On one competitors unit - when I went to open the dryer door the whole dryer lurched at me. Tin cans I say... |

The water level comes right to the lip of the tub-it is adequate.I'm sure there is a way to raise it,and I feel sure someone will figure it out and post it here.I don't have the technical knowledge to attempt it. Tom |

Pulsator, Thanks, I saw that set. It doesn't indicate that the washer has a heater. Now that I have one in my current Danby, I won't buy a washer without one. |
