Hi Tom.

Great machine - known in the UK as model D6008 and called Hoover Dryer de Luxe.

This dryer is a matching companion to ChesterMikes Hoover Keymatic A3008 (known as the Hoover 225 on the mainland!).

Great find - congratulations.
Paul

I suspect that 1 is high heat and 2 is low heat

Tell me please about the big "knob". Is that a traditional mechanical timer, perhaps with the markings eroded away?

Yes, its a mechanical timer. It does not autoreverse, but it dosent tangle the vlothes much. I also have a Hoover Autosense Dryer, and it has the same drying metode.
