Hey,

as I´m not only interested in other peoples´s washers and dryers I´m also interested in their laundryrooms, I know im curious..:-)

So I had the idea of creating a new thread, in which everyone can show his laundryroom/(s) and telling about its story.

So here I go with my "laundrycorner", and my 2 devils:

AEG Lavamat 78800 and
AEG Lavatherm T 523

My laundryroom had a really poor style in the last few years, so we decided befor easter this year to paint it.
My father bulit me a giant great shelve where all my detergents (about 30 + 15 fabric softeners ) can fit!
In next time, more new pictures of my laundry and my detergents will follow!

Greetings, Nino!

No space for a laundry room here, so the washing machine is on the small bathroom, notice all the mess? :D
It's a Philco Italia Agila 6(42 cm depth) 5Kg machine, has quite an age now... but going beautifully!

What a great idea! Our flat is rented but it has a laundry room. Its pretty compact but has lots of cuboards for detergents and stuff. The washing machine is 1200 spin whirlpool froma year or two ago and the drier is a Zanussi/ Electrolux TCE7227W.

Then...

The "Grandmother"...IGNIS! on left
The "Mother"...Sangiorgio!on right
The "Daughter"...Whirlpool! in center...

Now only both TL are hooked up...Sangiorgio shoul be moved into the basement...or should it be the Ignis? Well...I don't know exactly...let me think...:-)

Here is mine, it used to only be a pass through between the garage and main home but we took out part of the third bay garage to make it larger adding cabinets, a sink and freezer.

Here's my laundry room, with a Frigidaire laundry trio. The prior owner of the house was into painting and decorating every square inch of every wall. The floor is concrete painted to look like floor tiles. The cabinet has pussy willows painted on it, and every wall has a 'Duck-Duck-Goose' wallpaper border. (Look up and to the right of the cabinet)

And that's just the laundry room!

Nice laundry rooms! Thanks for posting.

I have to say, though, I'm a bit surprised at the amount of suds in the first picture that Nino posted -- is that Persil?, I have never seen Persil suds that much, but I've never been to Europe, so maybe the water makes a difference... here in America a normal dose of Persil barely makes any suds, if you overdose you can get a small amount of suds by the glass. The only Euro detergent I've used that can oversuds like that was Ariel (which, to be honest, I didn't like much).

Post# 244991 , Reply# 19   10/28/2007 at 15:11 (6,017 days old) by lavamat78800 ()

Hey earthling!
Yes, it´s Persil I used!
In that cycle I washed a carpit at easycares 30°, the washrhythm is very fast!
But as usual I have lots of problems with suds when I use Persil!
Ariel is a bit better, but it doesn´t wash as white as Persil does!
So next time, I´ll still buy Persil again!

Here's my setup. The Kenmore Series 70 dryer is somewhere from the early 80's (can't remember) and has only needed a belt after 25 years of use. The Maytag washer is from 1987 and just recently required a replace of belts earlier this year after 20 years of use. Impossible to find that type of quality and reliability these days.

Before Pictures

chachp's profile picture
Here are some before pictures of our Laundry room. We haven't decided yet what we're going to do with it. I am thinking about building the Washer and Dryer into the side where the mixers are. There is a water heater in the tall cabinet. I thought I would replace it with a tankless and put in new cabinets around the washer and dryer. On the opposite side where the dishwasher is, I want to add a sink, cabinets and build in the dishwasher.

This is the side I'd like to add cabinets, a countertop and build in the dishwasher. That's my KDS-17A that I am really beginning to love. I have it hooked up and find myself using it more and more. I have a Bosch in the kitchen that does a great job but it's kind of boring compared to the Kitchen Aid.

This is my laundry room here in Spain. I have thought about pedestals but haven't bothered yet.

A few months back Turnamat (Thomas) posted on the forum that he was coming to Sitges, so I invited him to visit. He wasn't too impressed with the boring Mieles! But I brought up my 1984 Hotpoint toploader from my storage room in the garage and we had fun washing with that in the kitchen!

I have two laundry rooms- the first is the old shack- actually that picture is from when I moved in 3 years ago- it's now painted and looks much nicer, and I've put a stone walk to navigate the wet ground. But it had laundry hookups and I got a Maytag full size washer and a 220 drier- Whirlpool I think and both work well-

Got a little tired of going OUTSIDE to the detached "garage/shack" and had first bought a Kenmore space saver drier before the full size unit- so I converted it to 110 and put it in the bathroom unvented and then eventually got a small Haier very cheap on ebay and put it in the bathroom too.

I do a lot of light maintenance loads on the Haier, especially in the winter, and dry them for an hour or so on 110- the low heat just vents into the bathroom= unless I want to get serious then I use the big machines outside and the 220 dries things in 20 minutes.

I'll be more going out there again for it all now that the winter here is almost over.

My current laundry room has had a few different machines in it in its time. Ive got pics of all of them below. Pic 1 is the day after we moved in with my Electrolux set taking pride of place.

Pic 2 is when I went for the stacked look with my new Beko machine.

Pic 3 is during the 'top loader' phase with the Fisher and Paykel t/l machine. Electrolux dryer still hanging in there.

Pic 4 is the laundry room empty awaiting a re-shuffle and new machines.

Pic 5 is showcasing the Indesit dryer I currently have but the Hoovermatic twin tub can be seen when I was between washing machines and decided to try using a twin tub as a daily driver.

Currently got the Simpson front loader in but don't have a photo of the laundry as it is now sadly.

Enjoy,
Matt
