1959 Westinghouse dryer (Model D-8M), Washington, D.C. area: This is a beautiful machine that needs a new, loving home. It still has the original installation instructions and laundry directions in the laundrafile. It was last used three years ago, but we recently plugged it in and it turns on. You can e-mail me at ljhertz@yahoo.com. Your club is great to rescue and appreciate these vintage machines!
We know someone will appreciate and enjoy owning this dryer. Pick-up only.

I didn't think this style of door was still used in 1959. I thought the more "modern" window (like on the L110???) was used throughout the line by 1959.

This is a guess, but I think it's a '54 or'55. (close?)

I believe it's 1956. Had friends who built a home then, and that's the model they had in their kitchen. Damn, I wish I still had that pair.

Oh I didn't even notice the "1959" when I posted her email. This is a 1956 model dryer.

That is the exact same dryer that was in our house when we bought it in '98. We had it hauled away when we bought our Maytag set. That was before I knew people collected and saved such things. Please forgive me for being so naive'.

communication progress

I was able to contact the owner and anxiously await word.

I indicated that I am in the area and can pick it up (it's about an hour from here, but that's fine).

no news yet.

catch it and you keep it....
