Notice the big, yellow KA trash compactor next to the DW. My Dad had one of those in the 70's, was neat how it had a little door on top son one didn't alwasy have to pull the drawer open. And it was unique among compactors in being round inside instead of rectangular.

Does KA still make the sink mounted hot water dispenser?

Wonder why KA changed the racking design putting the plates on the left side. Guess it was for the upper spray arm. I used to have a KA like in the POD and there was just the wash arm on the bottom, everything still came out great. And because the sides of the rack were more slanted, the mugs on the top did not have pools of water. Some later models had a spray on the top, but my present KA(KUDS220T4) has the upper rack spray but none on the top of the tub. Sometimes I get sediment on concave part of the mugs, but everything gets super clean and VERY dry in my KA. I love this machine.

Kitchen Aid hot water dispensers

Kenmore1978 asked" "Does KA still make the sink mounted hot water dispenser?" I was pretty sure that they did, but just to be 100% certain, I decided to go to their website. Sure enough, they not only still make hot water dispensers, but they have several models to choose from. They all seem to heat the water to 190 degrees F.

KA

Interesting, there is no hint of ownership by Whirlpool anywhere on the site AND, all products are represented EXCEPT washers and dryers
