Here's another wringer that is available free to a good home! I think this one is a Blackstone too! Mark

Both wringers!

Here's a photo where you can see both wringers! Too bad the machines were not entirely made of porcelain. Mark

Isn't that an Apex?

Yup, that's a Spiral Dasher Apex. A more TOL model, the lower end models had two fins on the agitators. I'll bet that is a very cool washing action.

That is some awsome adjator. It looks a little like a Kelvinator. I wonder what the wash action is like in this Apex.

I just luved that wash action !! I managed to pick one of those up a few years ago over here in the UK, it must have been on an import.
I didn't keep it for long though as the pump & tub gasket had perished..I did keep the agitator though, right nightmare to get out.
Cheers
Keith

Would love it if that agitator would fit in an SQ.
I could turn it into a "Queenex".

O.K., I know-----baaaaad.

Well, Robert Perdue (Lady Kenmore) dropped an Easy Spiralator in an SQ and created an "Easy Queen". That was some pretty aggressive wash action too!

My first washer

When I saw your post, I thought that agitator looks like an Apex. Then I scolled down and saw, yes Apex. When I was about 10 I asked my dad if I could get a washer, the local Maytag dealer had used ones. I said I wanted a top loader, as we had the Bendix, and only my mom could use that. So I assumed he knew I wanted an Automatic.

He brought home an Apex like this one, and removed the wringer, he was afraid I would hurt myself. I did have fun with that Apex, I don't think I actually washed any clothing. It was in our garage below the house, and I loved seeing that thing thrash and pump out the water! I used it to make paper mache once too.

Thanks for the memories.

Martin

OK Y'ALL!

Let's quit talking about this thing and see some action. Someone COME AND GET IT....or it's going where the Lone Ranger goes....to the dump, to the dump, to the dump, dump, dump!

Apex advertised that if you filled it with maybe 6 inches of water, the agitation was gentle enough for machine washing of delicate fabrics, long before 2 speed motors made slow agitation possible.

Hey Mark, a possible favor

I'd love to see that Apex agitator in action, and I was wondering if you could possibly wait a while before you trash it. I'd like to check it out when I come down, but I can't take it home.
