Just picked up a KitchenAid KD2-P. I ran her for the first time Big Blue Wash Arm and all. I was wondering if anyone out there has this machine. I will be posting pics soon. It came with the Owner's Manuel,a Congratulations Card from KitchenAid and it is Mint Condition except for a little mildew around the cover gasket. She runs great except when the pump starts for the wash, it also drains slowly at the same time. With my expierience with more commercial machines (Hobart UM-4) would that be the spring on the drain solenoid or would one think there is junk in the drain valve ?
Any feed back would be great. I am now a 3 portable dishwasher home. Now I need to install 2 more sinks so I can use them all at the same time !!!!

Yep I have the same machine. My restoration process is documented in photos in the Member's collection area.

For the wash/drain problem, it's probably a little valve under the machine, towards the back, hanging off the sump. Mine was draining while washing when I got it. I sprayed the valve shaft with WD-40 and worked it so that it moves freely. Since then it's worked perfectly.

Central Brass makes a beautiful portable dishwasher faucet that you can mount on the deck of a sink which would enable you to operate two of them at the same time. The model number is 0282.
