See link below for archived original thread. Pulled the "quick install" converter box apart. There is really nothing in it! Found that one fuse housing was melted and bad. This is a 20amp fuse connector that contains a 15amp fuse. Replaced this with a new one from Grainger. Reconnected everything back up and the washer is dead. No sign of power at all. Plugged the washer into the dryer side of the install box and the dryer into the washer side. The dryer works fine, the washer still has no power. Followed all wires and secured all connections. Peter did you check to see if power is making it to the otherside of the fuse? ...and then into the machine itself. Perhaps the fuse housing was melted due to ecessive current draw, but not enough to blow a fuse. Which then may have melted a conductor in your power ("flex") cord. It might pay to check it for continuity. Then think about WHY the fuse housing was melted....... |
