My asko is a 92 model, no electronics so simpler than the new ones. The longer I own it the more impressed I am with it. The main advantage of Asko is the door arrangement - no rubber boot seal. The boot transmits vibration to the casing of the machine when on spin, so Askos spin well without the vbration of many machines. The inner drum can dance about freely if the load is unbalanced, without that movement being transferred to the cabinet. Solid well built machine. The door hinge on mine is getting worn so on fast spin (1400) it makes a very loud rattle but otherwise it's great.

Chris.

I think you should buy it! I'm very pleased with my Asko appliances. I have the 20003 washer from 1993 and 7704 dryer form 1994.

And to Gizmo: You get the door hinges as a repair set. The hinges on my 20003 is original, and still like new. Smooth and nice, even on 1600rpm. Only the doorlock rattles a bit on mine. I've replaced the drum, bearings, sealings, and the recirkulation hose ca 1 and 1/2 year ago. I also have repaired the electronic card once, but that was my fault. I broke of a component on the card. But I fixed it again;)

I`ve had my set 6yrs now and love them, easy to use yet all variables covered, Variable Spin from 400 through to 1600, Variable Temp from cold/30d through to 95d nr boiling, jet flush dispenser clears powder & additives, dispenser smooth sided for easy flush clean...Solid Door but you need to get used to closing it a quick flick closes it, if you press it you move/push the tub/shocks a bit.Super Rinse for intensive rinse, High Water Level on wash & rinse if needed, Pre Wash & Soak progs also....its about the only machine that you will find badged for commercial use as well, Electrolux, Nyborg & Primus etc....so thats sells it as well...
