Hello Didier and welcome to the club, what a fantastic range of machines you have, I love the Vedette, all those chunky controls with the dispenser on the top, and see through action...and the Philips, is that the "Jets of Water" action?? two plumes of water are spurted under pressure to roll the clothes around??

That Bendix is so cute?? is that the powder dispenser as well as the temp gauge?? Oh questions questions, had better leave them for others to write?? thanks for showing, Mike

Hi Didier.

Welcome to the club - believe me, it is a lot of fun and a real nostalgia trip with a load of great people.

I have just been over to your website - looks great!
Very proffessional and your collection is superb.

From clicking on your collection pictures I jumped at the site of your Hoover de luxe 128 toploader. I have never seen an actual photograph of one of these before - in the UK these were known as model A1004 and were known as the 'Spacemaker'. Great to know that there is a vintage Spacemaker which has been saved (and it has 'Matchbox' knobs).
You mention '3239' in your information - is this the model number on your machine?

Also glad to see that you have a Miele 429 - wonderful looking machine you have there and in such great condition. positively gleaming.

Once again congratulations on a fantastic collection of machines and welcome to the club.

Cheers
Paul
p.s i noticed in your WANTED Section that you were after a Hoover 3243H 'Matchbox' Keymatic. Unfortunately I dont own a Matchbox (if only I did), but I did buy an advert for it recently. Enjoy!

My name is Bertrand (Bert for the English!)

You are perfectly right for the philips: two jets of water with a good pressure. It will vork soon.

On the dispenser of the bendix, there is a temperature jauge to stop the heater when you have the temp that you want.

Please note I've juste have the new link:

Good morning Bertrand, the link is working fine, am loving the Mors 1949 washer video, wow, stand well back when it starts to spin, and the wash looks a great agitation...

Did you get the Thor Parnall that was for sale in France recently??

Here is the Parkinson Cowan "Live Water Action" washer, this is like your Philips etc, it boils by gas as well, looks very similar to the Hoover single tub,

Cheers, Mike

Hi Mike!

thanks for the Parkinson. Your're right: it's very similar than the Philips. I'll try to send advertisment whith the same argument 'no moving parts in the tub'.

For the THOR, I tried about three months ago to buy it, but the seller did never contact me ... What a pity!

Hey Bertrand, first of all a big welcome to aw.org, I'm so glad you found us. I just looked at your website, it looks just great. I'm totally impressed with your collection, it is super cool. I love the French Frigidaires! Who knew, I had no idea the Frigidaire name and logo was used in France as well. My favorites have to be the Frigidaires, Vedettes and the early top loading Les Autres, I think we saw that machine on eBay about a year ago, glad you were able to save it.

Jon in France

Jon,

If you visit France again, tell me and come and see me and my friend. Dijon is in Burgundy. I'll be happy to show my collection. I don't know French people who collect washing machines. I'll see with my site... May be see you!

A warm welcome from the Netherlands. I've looked at your site and was pleasantly surprised. You have such a great collection. I always had a weak spot for French toploaders, especially for the toploaders with glass lids.

You have a great collection and there are so many machines I haven't seen before, including the AEG Novamat. The Vedette machines are wonderful too, just my cup of tea! And the pictures of the Brandt Statomatic 47 Super are to die for!! I'm sure I will be coming back to your website very often to enjoy aal those pictures. My French is not so good, but I'm sure that I will understand your Historique as well.

Great you're here!

Louis

Welcome Bertrand! Your collection is amazing. Maybe you can visit during one of our annual "Wash-Ins" to meet some of our members and play with our appliances.
Best wishes,
Tom

Je suiss sans mots...

Really I'm speechless looking at your collections! Bienvenue mon amis Bertarnd!

I'm a really strong TLHA lover...just like your Vedette!! The only (after the only american TLHA known as Launderall) TLHA (Top Loading Horizontal Axis)...WITH WINDOWED LID!!!

Neither in my Ignis I can see the drum rotating...I'm wondering whether you have done yet some videos...

In Spain they're known as Otsein...well, this is the one I saw on Youtube...

Tres heureux! A bien tot...
A revoir
Diomede

PS: may I ask you to describe the drum opening system? American folks are not in habits with this but really neither I could undesrtand if the drum (speaking of all machines you "par le dessus" you own) has got the lid with hinges or the lid can be taken off!

PPS: have you bought EVERY WM you saw on ebay!?

Your IGNIS looks like the first FRIGIDAIRE in my gallery, especially the tumble.
For Brandt and Vedette, The first drum opening systems had a sort of button: you push it and the door goes in the back of tub. To cloose it, you take the door and when it is closed, the button blocks it. I hope you undesrtand my English... Anyway, You'll see the system very soon in a next video about Brandt statomatic 47 super, a very famous washing machine from 1967.

Vivalavatrice is right about lauderall. This machine looks like Laden in France, one of the firts automatic washers in France, from 1949. here's a pic

I hope you undesrtand my English

Thank you Bert, don't worry about your English it's not worse than mine at all!
Use some French words if it is necessary for you... here is more used than Italian though :-) And is my second foreign language

So you say the drum lid is "glissable" (=sliding)... interesting! I have figured out it coudl be like that...but not sure. I'm really looking for watching at videos soon!

Nous attandons les videos de tons machines a lavèr, specialment depuis que nous avons savu qui sont part d'un collection.

A bien tot!
Diomede
