Are the center dial consoles interchangable with the 80's orbital machine consoles? (Provided they both offer the same options.) My poor Maytag has about had it and I'm thinkin I want to try and get an Orbital 'Tag to replace it, however, I just can't leave the center dial look behind!

Fix the center dial. What's wrong with it?

Bearings are failing, pump is failing, brakes are failing and the suds diverter valve is dumping water all over the place.

If you take the whole top and controll panel off with the wiring harness, you should be able to install it on the newer washer.

Do I have to take the whole top panel though? Personally, I kinda like the wider opening lid on the somewhat later orbital machines...

At some point they changed the way the controll panel attaches to the top panel. I think the later models with the larger opening had made this change.
