Sounds like the bearings are gone or there is some other serious mechanical failure. |

this sounds exactly what happened to me about 9 years ago when i had an old hotpoint FL. Only difference was that I couldn't turn the drum at all as it had totally seized up |

Sounds very simular to what happened to my Zanussi - Electrolux, we ended up getting rid of it because it used to go MAD! The time came when it started crashing about and causing a flood which ruined all the electrics in the machine! I think maybe the unbalanced protector sensor went faulty on mine!
