Is it a regular or centric wash action?

Interesting wringer - standard oscillating agitator. Jon C. has lots of info on their dive into the automatic washer field later on, even a hand-built model they used as a proto-type for testing.

They were building wringers for many, many years - too bad they ended up in the lint filter of appliance manufacturers so early!

There was an ABC wringer washer left in the basement of my parents' home when they moved there in 1962. It wasn't quite as old as this one but had the same agitator. I played with it a lot, of course, in my younger years. The washer has long since been moved to washer heaven, but to this day there's a plant stand made from the agitator of that old washing machine on mom and dad's back porch!

I was under the impression from one of the recent Kelvinator threads that Kelvinator bought the Altdorfer Brothers out, and that the Kelvy washer was just a rebadged ABC?

ABC washer

Great machines these were. Kelvinator(American Motors) did buy the ABC company out in the 1950's. The wringer machines all washed with the usual washer action, not like their automatics. Hope this helps. Gary
