Love the control panel with the curved top. I don't think I have ever seen that agitator or cap either. Is that a common hole pattern on the bottom of the tub? How and where did you find it? Ed |

You got the magic going, Austin. I probably wouldn't have hated school so much if I could have come home to a new (old) washer. |

...for the control panel. The use of ovals is cool, I especially like how the theme is carried into the filligree to the left of the controls! Great catch, I'm happy for yah! John |

How fun! I remember that machine, but never realized it had that type of agitator in it. Enjoy Austin! What was I saying not the other day about a convention in Texas in future years... |

That tub is the same from my parents' old 1977 Kenmore (110.72891610). Brings back some interesting memories... |

Hey! Way to go Austin and Venus!! That looks like it is in pretty good shape. And sound like it's a "low miles, one owner cream puff" at that. And just remember Austin; you even found it in "Tex-ass" (as you said it when you said The Lone Star State was classic washerless) LOL!! Are you gonna sneak this one into the utility room when no one is looking? (We won't tell) (: Congrats, Rick |

Congratulations Austin, and thumbs up to you Venus! Way cool. And the best part, it found you! Can't wait to see some videos. Never saw that style agitator in a Kenmore. |

The control panel looks like my grandma's washer, only hers was the standard capacity and the black RotoSwirl agitator. Her's also had a two-tone blue to it and different colored cycles. Great find! Hope you get it going soon. |

The only reason they altered the basket drive was to make it stop faster. Since there's no small children in your house, that's not an issue, so I perosnally wouldn't bother replacing it. |

Oh...I thought it had binding issues on large loads or something like that. Good! |

My mom got the same washer and the matching Soft Heat gas Dryer in October of 1963 when her and my dad moved into their new house in Springfield Va. Your description is absolutely correct and you were also right in saying that it was a model 70. I have seen that same washer and dryer in an early 1965 Sears catalog that a friend of mine has so it muhst have been made for a few years before it morphed into the 518 model. I personally remember that washer as we ahd it at our summer home in Md from 1971 till 1989. It was a awesome machine and I would sure like to find another one. PAT COFFEY |
