I got my machines today. They are both getting a bath tomorrow with some muratic acid and a wire brush. The washer runs fine but it is missing the boot and the plastic inner ring. The shaft going from the dial to the timer is bent and the center oval pully (multy speed tumble pully)does not move at all.Once I get it cleaned up enough to get down to the nitty gritty,I'll be able to get a closer look at whats going on there. The hoses are of course dry rotted and there's lots of rust. The dryer was on top but there was no top on it.Again, lots of rust. The tub looked o.k except for the door seal needing to be replaced and the drum could use some tlc too.I couldn't hook it up just yet some ass hole cut the dryer cord right at the terminal block.Once I replace the cord,I'll run it to se what needs to be done. As long as the parts are available and I can have Lowes match the color with some acrillic paint,I'll bring these bad boys back to life.I may be asking for some asistance but maybe not.I worked on quite a few Westinghouse front loders in my days and they came out well enough to get sold.Never got any returns, just happy customers. |
